PM to Attend World Economic Forum 2022 in Switzerland

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen has announced that he will attend the World Economic Forum in early 2022 in Switzerland. While announcing, the Prime Minister has challenged the opposition groups to make a demonstration. The Prime Minister was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Cambodia-China Friendship Bridge on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister’s statement was in response to comments from opposition groups that ASEAN does not accept him as he prepares to chair the meeting. The Asia-Europe Summit will be held on 25 to 26 November .

Cambodia will take over the rotating chairmanship of ASEAN in 2022, while early next year he will attend the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. He says, “How come even the ASEAN doesn't want to call a meeting with Cambodia. And HE would like to tell you to make a protest against him in Davos because Hun Sen will join the World Economic Forum there. Go and make that protest there, go and do it”.

The World Economic Forum 2022 will be held in Davos, Switzerland from 17 to 21 January 2022 under the theme "Working Together to Restore Confidence" which will welcome more than 2,000 leaders from government, business and civil society that will work together to promote action and build a sustainable future.
